by the way ive been seeing it on the forums.. anything that has a flip out screen (unless custom frabricated) will not let you close your cover. however, if you going to buy a dual brand player, i say save up and buy a Pioneer Z1 or D2, or go with alpine or eclipse. im not too famliar with alpine or eclipses line up thus i cant give any specific models. just the thing is, you always get what you pay for, and if you wanna get something like that for your car do it right. :D hope this helps.

i have the iva-w200 as well, i just drilled new holes in the brackets about a centimeter back to get the door to close over it perfectly and not hit buttons when opening the cover...

btw.. i wouldn't go dual haha

The Alpine IVA-W200 is what I would recomend. It is probably the least expensive of the decent double din players and it is damn nice

You don't have to drill holes for the IVA-W200, I used the factory mounting brackets, and mounted the unit far back. The door closes perfectly fine.

I'll post some pics later this week.

Oh, by the way, I would recommend you save up for a good DVD unit, I don't recommend the Dual.

If you are looking to get a quality in dash DVD player for the price the Dual unit sells for, there are a few things you can do...

Steal a quality unit (not recommended)

Become an authorized dealer/distributor for a brand name company (Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse....), and get one for yourself (you will still have to pay taxes, etc... but it's an option.

Get a partial/full sponsorship from a dealer/company

Get a used/refurbished good unit from ebay/craigslist.

Other than that, you will be happy with your Dual for about 1 month. I don't know where you heard it has "great quality", but I disagree with that.

I know it's hard to save up $1,000 for an in-dash DVD player, but I don't think you'll be happy when your Dual (or Jensen) unit breaks down/causes problems.

Think about this... I have had countless (sooooo many... many many many many - you get the idea) customers come to me hating their cigarette lighter FM modulator for their ipod. It doesn't cost that much for that FM modulator, nobody likes using them. My customers always upgrade to an aux unit or better. But they spent more money overall to have their ipod play in their car, and went through too many headaches.

Any decent brand. I'm partial to Alpine and Eclipse. I've always seen Pioneer as mediocre but seem people do like them a lot

dual belongs in hyundais, not scions??? you do realize that the sonata and tiburon loaded costs more than a loaded tC? not flaming the tC b/c i have one that i drive on weekdays, but u're making this car out to be like it's a benz or something... i don't like dual either, and i wouldn't put it it anything, but i def would say my car is better than a company that has pretty much remade itself, and thier product line has a pretty high initial quality as toyota.... scion isn't ranked as high as toyota or lexus, though i believe hyundai is up there higher than scion....
