My first recommendation is save just a little bit of money and do it right.....
Buy This:
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16941 <------

But if your budget is really as tight as your saying, then this is not a bad unit that one of my friends put in his car. Its not the same level of quality or features as Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, etc....but you get whatyou pay for, and its better than used!!

get the pioneer avh-p5700dvd. It is reasonably priced, and is a brand name. (If you are in So. Cal, let me know, I can get it for you and install it).

Whatever you do, please, please, PLEASE!!! Don't get a Jensen, Dual, or any other no name brand! Unless its free!

WhiteBlazer I believe I read in one of your posts somewhere else on the site that you are a mobile installer correct? If so, with your last comment about the no-name brands what do you think of Clarion DVD players????

Lol, yea, I'm on so many different forums! (same name). I am an installer (among many, many other things).

I haven't had much experience with Clarion products, but from what I hear, they are pretty good. My personal favorites are Pioneer & Alpine (I prefer pioneer, but Alpine can be higher end, but not very user friendly), Kenwood makes a good DVD player, I hear eclipse has a nice selection of DVD players too.

I'm just not a big fan of cheap no name products, especially products that are supposed to have a lot of functions & capabilities - but that's just me.

Or ok man well I was just wondering because I have a indash dvd player by Clarion and I love it it does everything I want it to do and more. Plus I love my iPod interface on it, that right there is the ULTIMATE "tool" that everyone needs in the car full of tricks is an iPod video so small and discrete but yet so VERY useful. Also whats your opinion on say video screens like if I were to get some screens for the visors or headrests what should I get?

Here are a few things you should look for in a headrest/visor monitor.

- resolution - A good 7" widescreen typically has 1440 x 234 pixels
- screen size - there are 5", 7", 8", 9"... Just figure out what will fit in your location. Also check for the mounting depth and if the monitor comes with a bracket
- IR repeater - see if it has a built-in IR repeater for wireless headphones. If not, you need an external repeater sitting somewhere else in the car (looks big and ugly)
- A/V inputs - The audio inputs would be for the headphones, and the video inputs are for... video! Some have 2 A/V inputs, and maybe 1 A/V output
- frame - some monitors have a big bulky frame (usually the smaller monitors have this). Try and get one with a small frame (border).

Thats pretty much it. There are a lot of monitors out there. Just as a reference, the monitors I use for installations are 7" widescreen 1440 x 234 pixels 2 A/V inputs 1 output, built-in IR repeater, and I sell these for $350 a pair (not installed). If you find something around that price, thats a good deal.

The ones I use are made by Micro Alarm. They make many many electronic parts for audio/video shops

sorry boss, did not mean to jack your thread... but here is the DVD player I have http://cgi.ebay.com/CLARION-VRX755VD...QQcmdZViewItem
I did not get it on ebay but I also payed more than $500 for it but I love it to death. I love the ipod onscreen interface looks very similar to the iPod. Also I have no complaints about the DVD player I like it because alot of them have to have the hide away unit that goes under a seat but this one doesn't plus very user friendly and not too flashy to where when its closed everyone walking by is like oh ____ he has a DVD player thats grab it. Only downside no GPS but if I want that I would just use my laptop forgot a 7" i got a 19"
