No, but there is an odor alarm. It produces a pungent burnt odor to let you know what you have done.

there is a bright red brake light in front of your face, that should be enough to let you know. right?

 

That would be a simple mod though. A small buzzer under the dash with constant power and the ground to the brake. Problem is it would buzz even when sitting still with the ebrake and ignition on.

No not that i know of. But the squeal, the sound of non rotating tires, the fact that this big stick is sticking up and in the way of the gear shift, and the difficulty accelerating, as well as the red warning in the instrument cluster..... Id say if you cant tell with all those signs that your ebrake is engaged, then your the reason why shampoo bottles comes with directions for use.....

 

i drove at least two miles with mine on yesterday. no squel no burn no nothing. like it wasn't even on. still works like new...

Then it wasnt all the way up, probably not even enough to be partially engaged.

But in the future, start looking at your dash. There is a big read light that says "BRAKE" on it that tells you that either the brake system has an issue or that your ebrake is engaged.

Yea, sometimes I'm a big hurry too. These stupid cars! I can't believe you actually have to unlock the doors and turn the key to start them! I don't have time!!

 

If you're driving a 5 speed, you wouldn't need this. Yet another reason automatic transmissions should be done away with.

 

? A manual is where it would happen the most.. you rarely use the ebrake on an auto, and always should when parking a 5spd.

Although, either way, it shouldnt happen in any car

 

Exactly, the only time I use the ebrake on my auto is when I am takin the tire off. Otherwise leave it be.
