Yea, I will try to take some pix tomorrow of it maybe such that my stupidity doesn't get in the way - you can see it first hand. - that's if I can get the radio back out (I have stitches in my back right now from having surgery last week and am fairly immobile)

The cd4000 has an aux connection in the rear, and I use my iriver all the time. I'm planning to run the cable from the back of the stereo to the center armrest and just replace the stock cable there. Other than the aux connection, i think the unit is pretty much the same. How do you like the cd3000?

I think the cd3000 is unbelievable...seriously the best sound upgrade that i've done yet.

For the aux:
I have my sirius satellite radio hooked up to the aux on the back of the unit. All that you need it this part for $30.

Aux 105: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-M1uENUR...50&I=099AUX105

As you can see from the picture, it is plug and play and my sister could install it. It will save you $70 over the cd4000 and the only thing that you won't be able to do is change the color on the cd3000. I think that is the only difference between the 3000 and the 4000.

Just in addition, the cd3000 is not nearly as complicated as I thought. In fact, it is easy to use and looks really good at night. It lights up really nice.

Hope that helps! Either way, with the 3000 or 4000, enjoy, you'll love either one.

One more thing, you will obviously lose the center console aux adapter unless you can figure out a way of working that. I have the monster mobile cable going from the satellite radio to the aux adapter since I need the RCA plugs. Here is what I use:

$20 at radio shack and thats the best quality that I found!

I'm planning on doing that sooner than later...right now I am getting a ground loop isolator for my satellite unit running through the aux, so when that comes, I will open it up and take pix

Its taking me forever to take some pix b/c the digital camera is away on vacation - but if anybody is waiting to do the install, just make sure set the ground wire, and trial and error method with the steering wheel harness wires will be successful, just time slightly time consuming. Thats how I did it, and the sw wires on the back of the cd3000 are right there for easy use. I'll get the pix soon though hopefully

i have the CD3000 installed in my 05 xB with the ipod accessory.
If i had the extra money at the time i would have spent the extra money to change the colors of the lights to match my interior lighting,,,

I shoot. I forgot about you guys. I'm sorry about that. Here is the deal. It isn't that simple to do and involves some splicing of wires and definitely some knowledge (remember, my friend helped me with this). I personally wouldn't attempt it myself, but if you know what you're doing, here is the connection:

Brown/Black to the pink wire and the Brown (from toyota harness) to the orange.

By the way, this wiring setup for the sw controls is ONLY for an eclipse HU. I have the cd3000, I don't know if any of the other are different...

If you want sound quality, Eclipse is the way to go.
