eD SQ10 hooked up! pics and quick poll question
So, I traded out my old amp/sub (Kenwood KAC-7202 / Alpine TypeR 12) for the eD NINe.4 and SQ10.
Wow, it pounds-- almost couldn't believe the output. I expected a larger dropoff. The lows hit tighter- the typeR was muddier. The SQ10 doesn't push quite as much air, but I'm impressed with how much it can put out given that it's seeing around 300W less. Very good design on the box with the shallow mount.
Right now I have two channels on the amp sending ~40 W each to my stock front components. I think it sounds pretty good, not spectacular, but definitely livable. My question is, should I put in the 6000s v.2 components that I bought? If it's not going to be a real big upgrade I might just return them. Keep in mind I'm just using the stock HU. Need some experienced opinions if possible, thanks.
My old setup (460 W rms, huge ported box)

New setup (150 W rms, tiny stealth box)

The sub moves so much that it hits the false floor. Fortunately eD sent me some sticky foam that i cut up to raise the floor level.

It's such a luxury to have my trunk back and still have a great sounding system. eD, solid products, solid service, solid company!

Definitely install the new components! Stock speakers are actually pretty good in our cars but nothing compares to new components. Install a set in one door and compare the difference.
Everything looks great dude, nice upgrade. I agree with Hyghgynx, it's always worth it to upgrade your components as well.
Not to spoil the fun, but is that your only fuse from the amp to the battery? If so, you really need to move that thing closer to the battery... and by closer I mean within 18 inches. It is imperative!! Taken from www.caraudiohelp.com:
"7. Install an in-line fuse holder for the power wire as close as possible to the battery terminal connection (the IASCA rule is within 18"). VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! This fuse protects your vehicle from burning up in case of the power wiring shorting out. The wire between the fuse and the battery terminal will be unprotected, which is why you want this section to be as short as possible."
