Default edead idea? What do you think?

I was thinking of edeading the inside of the hood of my car, so supress some of the noise that it was making. I want to know

1. Will edead withstand the head produced by the engine when the hood is closed.
2. Will this actually work in supressing the sound?

Thanks,

John

John,

Don't do it. There are products made specifically for under hood usage. eDead isn't one of them in it's current state.

Second Skin and Dynamat both make hood liners, there's also one available through Select Products.

Awww, you took the fun out of it

Ever watch That 70's Show? Everyone loves a good BURN.

Just kidding of course. That would be a mess on the engine even if it didn't catch on fire.

Well, the SE^2 would probably take the heat fine...but most hoodliners are more like FG insulation type mats then mass adding mats. Having a sheet of rubber probably wouldn't be THAT bad...but I can't imagine it as a smart idea.

Thanks for letting me know before I made a fool out of myself. I guess Ill have to look for a FG based mat if I want to do this. Anyways thanks for your expertise.
