Default eDead Project, **Done Finally just need to redo floor**

Well I just started my new construction of my tC setup this Easter Sunday morning and I am still wondering when I will be able to finish it. Well here is where I am at right now...
First Elemental Design goodies

Deconstruction of rear portion of car plus passenger seats

eDead hatch floor and sides (only one layer... two layers on passenger side where my eu-700's will be going)

Will update when available
****UPDATE SUNDAY APRIL 30TH****

What has been done...
edi6500's have been installed in the door
doors have been dampened alittle (did not want to get carried away)
floor will soon be finished just got to get my roll of eDead from Pete
0awg power ran thru firewall and under supports inside car.
rca's from the dvd player back to the hatch for ps2 (once I mod it)

What needs to be done...
passenger side front floor pan and drivers rear door skin in eDead
layer of eDead over the tranny hump
rerun rca's from dvd player back to the back seat for my 9.4 and 9.2x amps
mounting both amps behind the rear door panel
building and installing a "OneLiterPeter" stealth box for dual eu-700's
finding a place to mount my crossover near the kick panels

Everything stated previously has been done. I did not put the amps behind the panels but instead under the floor where the spare goes. I only need that when I am going on road trips so it can sit in the garage until i need to bring it on trips so no need for that storage area. It is taken up now with the amps everything got carpeted and it looks clean if you ask me. Pics will be here soon. Next will be my suspension and rims.

I did the samething over my easter break, except I only did the doors. My gf is always bugging me about the amount of time I spend on my car, so I had to cut project short. Im hoping the hatch and rear take less time than the doors, because it was a _____ to get my hands in the little holes to eDead inside of door. Goodluck though, and keep the pictures coming... I wish I could afford the "blue stuff"

Looks really good. :D

Definitely put some in those rear cavities. You'll get a lot of vibration from the bare sheet metal skin of the car. Try to reach in and cover as much as you can. Same goes for the rear side panels and doors.

Are you going to go with the stealth box for the sub?

Pete, I am going with that stealth box you designed... PROPS to you by the way not only on a clean setup but also on a clean looks like a CAD based design for people like me to follow. Also I plan on doing the inner doors skins and also the door themselves with the "smurf paint" as I call it or v3 as the guys from eD call it. Plus I might go with a light coat over the v1se2 (don't like how in some areas I have some of the adhesive coming out the sides because of the heat and pressure applied to it). And after thinking it over in my head and realizing that the 9.2x is 80amp and 9.4 is 50amp I have decided to upgrade everything from the battery back.

Will run

batt==anl fuse==0awg wire to the rear===distro blck===4awg to both 9.4 and 9.2x

also I might get me an optima battery later and might get a cap to what the hell do it right so if I upgrade again it won't be as bad. Right now I am trying to figure what amp fuse to get. If I got the 80amp and 50amp for the amps I would think a 150amp fuse after the battery would work but not 100% sure which way to go. But I will stick with the Knukonceptz stuff

Cool... Thanks for the prop's... Any questions you might have on the design, let me know. You will need to drill the screw holes when making the box though. ...and let me know when you're ready to cut the floor... I have a few tips for ya.

Don't worry about the adhesive... It really needs to flow a bit to do it's job and there's really nothing it'll com in contact with that will mess anything up. LOL... it does a good job of holding the stealth sub in place.

0 guage is really heavy stuff... I went with 4 guage and it was really thick compared to what I'm used to seeing. It'll be a bit of a challenge to run it but you'll be better off in the long run. The KnuKoncepts stuff is really nice. If I would have come across that sooner I would have used that instead of the Stinger, although Stinger is pretty good, just not too thrilled with their snap on plastic covers, they're pretty loose.

Dude... you are gonna flip when you hear that system after your install.

Finished some more guys not much because kind of short on time. But here we go

Hey Pete I could not remember if you used the eDead or not but if you did how many layers did you use? I think it was the v1se2 but if not let me know. And I will probably be on the phone with Chris later because he is sending me some baffles and I might need to get some more v1se2 since I have now decided to eDead the car like Chris did... so everything will be covered in "aluminum foil" and might get covered in a lite coat of "smurf paint"

Hey Chris a couple of questions... first what would you think of putting a lite layer of the v3 "smurf paint" ontop of the layer of se2? Also I decided since I already have the car bare that I should upgrade so if there is a next upgrade I can easily just drop it in, so I will be running oawg gauge from the battery back to a distro and two 4 gauge wires one per amp. What size ANL fuse should I go with after the battrery? 150amp? Also should I get the fused distro block and what size fuse for each amp? I believe I read the 9.2x was 80amp and the 9.4 was a 50amp... oh yeah and I will definately need some more eDead since I am now doing the whole car.

Also not only will you get a good paycheck from my install but also my chiroprator will too... hours in small car and a somewhat over weight person with minor low and mid back problems equals high chiroprator bills. But oh well no pain no gain.

150 amp = just fine.

No fuses necessary at the amp distro...ours are fused, you'd just be protecting the 2' of wire between distro and amp...not likely to go wrong there.

V3 over the SE² some people do it, not really necessary....just depends on if you want more mass or if the thought of a coat of V3 over it would help you think it's never coming off(it isn't )

Actually my coat of v3 would be more for the ends of the se2 that some of the adhesive comes out when pressed and manipulated but I do not want that sticky stuff on anything that touchs it. Like my shorts last night when I sat on the hatch floor to do the sides. Oh yeah and you never said how addicting the eDead was. I started out just gonna do the hatch and sides and stuff and now I will be doing the whole entire car. Just need to get my hands on some more eDead rolls. Wonder where I could find some I'll be calling later with my other order.

Yep... I did only one coat of the eDead v1SE2

JML...

You most definitely need to put atleast 1 layer of v1SE2 in those holes. 2 would be better.

im looking to do just about the same thing, edead everything 2 eu 700's in oneliterpeters box, 6500's up front no rear fill, big three, and i assume a nine2x and a nine 4 but havent really talked with edesign about which amps to use for that, but your saying chris that you shouldnt have problems with dimming with those two amps, cause the last thing i want to do after spending a grand on audio is buy an alternator and a new battery, although ive heard the yellow top is a good investment with any audio system, but no problems with dimming or anything even after long car rides with the system up

I've done worse to a tC than most of you guys ever will

Only time I've had dimming was before I swapped out my battery and was running a 2kW sub stage.

Since then, I've done 2 Nine.1's in there w/ my Yellow Top...the alt got a little angry, and it was day time, but the car worked fine

Hey Pete I will hopefully be putting on a layer or two of the se2 on the rear quarter panel skins on Thursday I believe I get out of work at 3:30pm. Also Chris I plan on doing some v3 over the se2 on the innner skin of the car extra protection since I know this is where alot of the noise and vibrations come from... would you suggest doing it or not and also what was the drying time on that stuff again? And should the car be ventilated and also could I drive the car while it was drying or no?

Hey PETE... these pics should make you some what happy

Oh and a little FYI for future eDeaders this area of the tC is a real PITA!! Not enough room to manipulate things as well as you would like also roller does not fit in there very well plus the fact that half of the place you are trying to cover you can not see. I only did one layer of the se2 but plan to paint some of the v3 over this area since lots of noise comes in here.

JML...

I have an extra roll of the v1SE2 if you need it.

I also have a set of speaker baffles as well.

BTW... eDead install looks good.

So far... it sucks having only a couple of hours each day before you must go to work. Oh well I guess thats what happens when you become an assistant manager at a drug store and work like 6 days a week. But hey the paycheck is great. And Pete I might need that roll of se2 but not sure yet because I just now got into my second roll I had so I think I will have enough to do the front floors and maybe some skin. It helps that I am only doing one layer and then 2 in some spots and the v3 will do the rest. Anyways heres the new pics.

Rear Drivers Side Floor

And Hatch and Rear Floor all just about done.

Just got to do some finishing touches and once I get so cheapo paint brushes I will start the v3. And my 0awg wires should be here hopefully on Friday and hopefully my boss gives me either Saturday or Sunday off so I can devote to my car.

Pass. Rear Panel
