Default ElijahtC's killerglass!!!!!

Well gothbox, bighungry, and myself all installed this on my car this past saturday. I think it looks really good myself. I have it wired to a hood pin so it only turns on when the hood is open and not just shining all the time.

I plan on getting a couple more flexible led strips to make the rest of my engine bay glow red and hook them up to the same hood pin.

I also got bored today and took some old parking light leds and put them in my dome lights up from. This is the result.

very easy!!!!!! Just buy a extra radiator hose for like $14. U can see instructions on the killerglass website. Actually the hardest part was putting the stock clamps back on. ha ha those things are sooooo tight. ha ha Everything is easy on the install though.

I would suggest using a hood pin for the switch. that is how i did mine and it works great. If u have any questions just let me know.

hood pins. remove your hood bump stops on the radiator core support. line up where the holes need to be drilled in the hood, then drilled them. attach the pins to the core support, install the pin latches on the hood. and ur good to go

Breakaway, I wouldn't worry bout the glass breaking really. Even on the killerglass website they show u what u can do with it. They drive a nail into wood with it and run it over with a Ford F-250 I believe. The shrink clamps are super tight on it too.

Fsu1dolfan, the whole setup is really easy to install. And let me clarify that I meant I have it hooked to a hood switch. It is a switch that gets pressed down when the hood sits on it and it disconnects the negative wire until the hood is raised again.

I placed the hood switch on the driver side of the engine bay on the little lip and the switch is right next to the vin number sticker.

I hooked it up like that cause I wanted it to come on only when the hood is raised which would be the only time somebody would see it anyways. I didn't wanna hook it up to a switch that I could easily forget to turn off.

I've put about a hundred miles on the hose so far with no leaks or problems.

Ha ha I will keep u updated on any issues or leaks. Tango from SE has had one on her xB for thousands of miles now and hasn't had a problem yet. And her glass piece is a lot longer. She even drove to cali from nova and back with it on.

Not like anything is gonna hit it to break it. It is made from the same stuff as pyrex cookware basically.

Yeah i was talking about the hood switch...not pins but thatnks for the explaination break away...in case i ever go that route.....as for the switch, is it a reverse switch....meaning depressed on and pressed off....is there a certain name for that switch or is it a different type of wiring....i used to pressed on and depressed off...if that makes sense

It is a switch that looks like a small door lock or something. They come with all viper alarms. Most installers won't install them for alarms. U could prolly go to ur local Best Buy or circuit city or sound shop and ask them for a hood switch.
