Default Festoon Bulbs (leds)

can anyone tell me where to buy a:

1) Festoon Bulb (8mm x 28mm) for the luggage/trunk compartment light.

2) Festoon Bulb (10mm x 31mm) for the rear dome light.

Btw, I looked on superbrightleds.com, but they dont have the exact size for the luggage/trunk compartment light, and they do have the size for the rear dome, but not in blue.

They have the rear dome festoon in blue, I found it

For the back Dome lights, you want to order one of these:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...6.2346&next=50

3022-4 LED Festoon bulb
30x10mm (1.181 inches long)12 VDC Festoon Base Bulb with 4 LEDS
Available in White,Blue,Green,Red,Amber and UV LED
$ 1.89

The trunk can use the same bulb, just with a little Modification.

Are you sure the (30x10mm) will fit in place of the (31x10mm). Would'nt it be loose. Also, could you please explain what you mean by, a little modification. I dont see how you can modify a (30x10mm) into a (28x8mm).

I'm positive it'll fit in the dome just fine... I run that bulb... I don't have the led in the trunk... but you just have to grind it a little or bend it a bit... I haven't played with it... nothing a dremel couldn't solve I'm sure...

Check this link... someone had the same problem.

Just be careful when you change the luggage/cargo bulb. Its very easy to blow the fuse. Fortunately, its an easy fix. (7.5 fuse) I was going to change mine, but trying to get the 3022 bulb to fit was a pain! I just left mine stock. Nobody really looks back there any ways.

ricexizxgood says "i heard you have to grind the metal part down to make it fit"

can you really do that? grind one side down to fit and would that work? i just placed an order for the leds and ordered two bulbs, one for the rear dome and the other for the trunk..i was told they were both the same size...

You can make the trunk one fit, it's only a couple of MM'sm but you will have to "Modify" it a little to get it in there...

Just be prepared to blow a fuse, I did in mine as well... the fuse box for them is in the engine compartment and you can find it's location in the owners manual...

what do you mean by "modify"? just jam the bulb in there? why would the fuse blow?

Cause you have the power to the switch turned on to ensure it's lit when connecting it.... like adding a new bulb... don't do that.... it won't fit if you don't bend/dremel is what "Modify" means.... even if you blow a fuse... it's cake to replace.

I'd say jam it in there if I thought that'd be a good idea... but it's most likely not...

what sucks is, on superbrightleds, they dont have blue for the rear dome festoon bulb. I'll probably settle for red. That would mean id have to change my whole interior, license plate, and parking lights to red.

its hard to see it actually light up on the pics because we have black interior and it jus eats up all that red light

with flash

well after coming back inside i got an idea to put white t-shirts up on the seats to show you the real effect of it. worked 75%..its a lot brighter in person thats all

here is the front. i also changed out the cubby and shifter light to red. gauges and console too obviously

You should do GREEN LEDs.
Front Dome light.

Auto Shifter & Cubby Hole lights.

Those match these...

No! I don't drive with just the green parking lights on. Like 05-RS1 said, they are very bright in person. I might try the luggage/cargo bulb again soon. I just need to get more fuses.
