you mean the radio cover / door?

The tC will fit a standard Double Din or DD radio. You just need to modify the mounting brackets and mount it back a little. There are instructions on how to do this on here.

yep, double din. There are four little dentents on each bracket. Drill those out with a 3/16 or 3/8 drill bit (forget the size...) should sit your dd unit back so the door will close. You'll have to do this on every dd unit I think...or maybe just the dd units with a **** sticking out. I might have to do this when I put mine in this weekend

Sadly I don't have any measurements but anything that is DD would match.

take a look at this:

study this picture from the tech section and you'll see what i mean.

look at the two white arrows towards the middle. they are pointing out the indentations that need to be drilled. (ignore the othe two white arrows and the red arrows. those are for something else) the other indentation that needs to be drilled is just below towards the middle.

well to make it fit so you can close the radio door without any issues, yes.

as for the gaps on the side, you will need to get a double din kit for that (basically its just plastic that is the size of the gaps between the HU and the opening, but that is standard, no way around that)

can anyone comment on how this would work with a kenwood dnx8120?
I can't close the door now, but not quite all the way.
how far back does the unit need to move in? I don't want it to be too abnormal looking or uncomfortable to access the buttons.

If you modify like the picture above it will be fine (trust me, I did it, and its the only way to keep the cover on)

You don't have to do this for EVERY unit. My Pioneer FH-8000BT works fine in the stock mounting locations. Try it first, then see if it needs to be adjusted.
