Footwell LED Installation Help requested pls.
Hey guys,
first time poster, i know i saw some led installation tuts here on scionlife but you will laugh when i tell u , i was confused when i read them LOl..
My first Tc and my first mod, and my first time customizing.....
I bought two Optx 9" LED strips (by Streetglow) for my footwells. I don't know how to wire this correctly, i got the driver one "working" lol.
I got the Gauge fuse and connected the positive cable of the LED strip to the fuse and then i simply got the ground cable and taped it to the back of the metal under the steering wheel. The blue leds turned on ... i drove but then 3 leds on the left side of the strip started to blink, they wont stop blinking evey once in a while, they even turn off sometimes for long periods of time then come back on so i dont know whats up.
Anyways, i really don't know if im even doing this correctly, and i have no idea how i can get the passanger seat one working.
Hope you guys can give me a hand here, thanks.

tape...? where there's your problem there...
just mount and route the wires.. connect (+) and (-) (properly!) and place switch.. and ta da!
there are also install guides helpful on the oznium forums if you check it out...
other than that.. shouldn't be too difficult.
power makes things light up..

Thanks for the quick response. Im confused cuz i dont know where the Negative should go (ground) .. I'm not sure where to connect that to.. I connected the positive to the little fuse box under steering wheel but the ground ???????????????? lol
You can hook the ground into any of the grounds in the wiring harnesses, there are enough in there.
Or, you can just hook it to a good grounding point on the frame, find a good bolt thats not painted that is directly on the frame.

^good response. I grounded my cathodes to the cig lighter ground, or like he said, you can ground to any non painted bolt on the frame, there are plenty available. Tape on anything other than splices and connections is a no no.
thank you guys,
imma try it out tomorrow . Any ideas on how to pass the LED cables from passanger footwell to the driver's footwell so i can connect it to the fuse? Another thing.. Can i connect both strips to the same gauge fuse im using?
What i wanted to do was connect it to the headlights so when i have low beams on the leds turn on, not sure if thats possible...
Thanks in advanced for your help.

Is it possible to find some sort of manual for disassembling the interior for the 2007 TC?
Seriously, lol i dont know where the headlights cables are nor do i know how to correctly splice them without messing it up (don;t think i've ever done that).. All i see under the steering wheel is a small black box (i believe its the fuse) , and a bunch of cables. if possible guys, point me to a manual or some basic readings.
Also about the recent reply.
12volts: red or white/ + /ignition harness
Does that mean that the red or white cables are the Positive and the ignition harness its the ground? Is the ignition harnes and round metal down there way undert he steering wheel?
Sorry for being so slow on this lol,
Thanks for the help!

Frustratred lol i got the cable from right side of passanger seat to the driver seat. now....... i even replaced the old led strips i had for brand new onces so i can start over.
I want to connect this to the headlights so when the headlights turn on the 2 led strips (passanger, driver) turn on as well. Im not sure if i can connect this directly to the small fuse box inside the car, under the steering wheel towards the left.
Or find the (brown) wire as stated above for the headlight switch.
Well. I've been looking for that brown wire down there under the streering wheel in a pile of cables that was ducktaped, but theres like 10 different brown wires and they all have small silver strips. I have a 2007 Scion Tc - Spec Edition.
Im going crazy lol.. its dark already outside and i cant find a damn wire.. And ground wires i dont know how to identify them.
Sorry, i know u guys said it was easy lol im having pretty hard time. damn.
