Gauge cluster/ Hvac wont light up
Hey everyone, I tried searching and came up short. For some reason my uages and Hvac just stopped lighting up. I didnt mod anything or change anything. Just simply stopped lighting. Anyone have this problem? O and I pulled every fuse I could see and NONE are blow so its not that. I took the Gauge cluster out of my car and tried in my brothers car who has a tC also and they work fine.....just not in my car.
Thanks for any help!!!
Thanks for any help!!!
thats wierd i only heard of the 07 having that problem. i had the same problem wit my 07 n so did several other sl members. wat we did was took it to the dealer n the ordered a part to switch it out n it was fix no charge
Well I took it to one dealer and they had no clue and just gave me the back. Maybe I'll try a different one.
Anyway. I pulled every fuse again and they are all 100% fine. Is there any way of knowing what relay the lights work off of? Could it be a bad relay somewhere?
I'm stumped because the switch that controls the headlights controls the gauge/hvac lights. Headlights work, so I know the switch isnt bad, right? If you guys listen when you turn the lights on you can hear a little clip which sounds like it comes from the fuse box inside the car. Anyone know if there is a switch that would control the lights from under there?

the gauges and the hvac run off the illumination fuse which lights up your front console, your gauges, hvac, shifter (if you have an auto), and your radio (which i hope and assume are not working as well)
it's a 7.5A fuse... labeled PANEL.
lemme guess... you only checked the fuses in the engine bay?
there's another fuse box man..

lights don't work for the radio too... yes?
that's what i was asking... sorry... perhaps i wasn't clear enough.
then everything you have just told me...... leads to only one main culprit...
that 7.5A fuse.
i'm sorry, but for anything else to have possibly gone wrong with the vehicle... you must've done something you're not telling us.

I'll check again.
Yes, he gauges, Havc, and LEDS on the radio dont turn on.
You know how on the fuse box under the steering wheel there are lik to parts it? Like by the pedals there are like 1 through 30 numbered fuses or something like that. Then there is that panal that you yank out under the mirror control. I HAVENT checked that area.

well.. the PANEL fuse is in the inside fuse box.. underneath the area where you just mentioned... plastic cover covering it... has alot of fuses all plugged in.
the plastic panel under the mirror control that you speak of is the same fuse box persay, however that area is where it holds most of the instrument cluster and various panel wiring and relays... you won't find anything of much use there.
probably check that 7.5A fuse again to see if it's really, really blown. take a tester to it of you really need to.. or try replacing it anyway.
