gauges help!

so my friend and i swapped gauges and hvac. his is modded leds to white but when i switched the gauges the odometer had more miles than i actually have. any ideas to return it back to normal?

i guess the mileage is stored in the gauges itself so to speak, so you now have his actual mileage, while e has your lower mileage.

changing that would be very hard since it is usually highly illegal, so you should probably go and get your gauges back.

yup you are not allowed to change the mileage on the odo...

they have to be programmed by toyota (not the dealer) when you buy a new cluster to replace one. So there is no way for you to change it. Just like cars with mechanical odo's, your mileage is stored in the cluster.

What I would do is get your old cluster back, have it swapped and there ya go. Otherwise, you just added all the extra miles on your car that you didn't drive...
