Default Getting a Car audio system. Need help! big time.

Hello all, Im not a scientist when it come to car audio and my previous car was done very well. I just lost the contact where I had it done.

Onward now. Since all im looking for is starndard speakers that sound great. Im more of a quality over quantity guy.

So far after searching around I found this head unit which looks and so far from what people say play nicely..

Now, As for the sub/ spearkers / tweeters / amps.. I dont know where to start. My only friend that KNOWs about car audio is out of town.. What do you guys suggest?

Also please notthing rediculous.. I dont have a lot of money. =/ lol Thanks =)

i'm not an audio expert, and I would suggest that you wait till ur friend is back in town

I'm a big fan of ALPINE top-end stuff (type-x) but it all depends how much do u wanna spend, and i didn't do any research on pricing yet for other brands so you might get better stuff for much cheaper than what i've found

Its extremely hard to reccomend something to someone without a budget.

I could reccomend a full system for $300, or Icould reccomend a full system for $10,000. Or anywhere in between.

I just finished installing christmas: eD 7Kv.2 sub in the stock '08 box, eDi 6000s v.2 components in the front doors and power with a Pioneer GM-6300F amp powering them. This runs off the stock stereo and the SQ is a dramatic improvement over stock. It won't rattle parts off the cars next to you at stop lights but if you want quality over quantity, I highly recommend it for $350. It's totally stealth too. Just change your HU for a bit more control. Personally I like the stock HU until I can get a Nav.
BTW you will need to fabricate some baffles out of wood for everything to clear.

i have sworn by alpine. When i first got into car audio and such, they were top of the line in quality and in price tag...

i have had alpine subs for almost 6 full years now and have never ever had a problem with anything. and the funny thing is the look on peoples face when i pop the hatch and the see only ONE sub, not 2 or 3 or 4...

alot of my buddies call it the "little sub that could"...

i just have one 10 running at max power and its louder than ALOT of other systems around here.....
