Default Glove Compartment Removal

Has anyone removed the glove compartment before and knows how? I'm working on something that would be much easier with it out of the car, but it looks like I'll have to take a lot of the dash apart to get at it.

open it fully, squeeze in the sides, and pull towards you.

I mean... when you squeeze the sides, it swings out a lot, but doesn't actually come out, because the bottom is still hooked or whatnot

or maybe not, its been a long time since I've removed it
