Now, Please excuse my newb question, but why do the harness's have to run to the floor, i always presumed the harness bar was for attachement?

Depends on the harness type. Some are made specifically to attach to a bar - either wrap around or eye-latch. Others are meant to go to some other mounting point.

Talk to Geoff at Nurspec for the bar... he's got damn good prices (don't even think about the prices on NRG's site, not even close).

X2 on prices.. u have to shop around...

as far as harness bolting locations... usually there are 2 types...

long harness and short harness..

short harnesses like ack said bolt to the harness bar as also do long ones can also if u have the patience to wrap it securely

u can also do the above pictured by ack and run the harness to the bar then to the floor on the back seat belt bolts... seat belt bolting locations are the strongest sections of the car for support "duh" for obvious reasons.

you also have the option of running a long harness str8 to the back bolts with out the bar but alot of people will stress to you that that angle going down is not a propper angle for belt and in an instance of hard breaking or an accident can cause more pressure to be compressed down on to your back and shoulders from the pull which is why some people use a harness bar.. the new high angle is more back and shoulder friendly...

but if ur short like me it wouldnt matter lol.. but if your tall and you shoulders do pass the lowest point on the harness holes on the seat then i recomend the harness bar mike for added safety.

Mine connects to the bar, not the floor. It all depends on which harness you get.

You can check my picture thread or flickr for more photos.

I would definitely not recommend any passengers in the back. Not only would it be difficult to get back there, but the slightest brake tap will probably break their face.

OK, so I wouldn't recommend passengers in the back that you like.

Yes. Especially if you have aftermarket seats.

Move your seat back a click, tighten the harness, then move the seat up a click (I use my heal to move the lever here). You're not going anywhere.

You can cut them/ notch them and put them back in, but I'm just too lazy. I think ACK did this. In my eyes IDC what it looks like. A

And yes, they hold you in the seat. It's amazing how much more control you have when your not trying to stop yourself from sliding around.
