Default Head light and tail light fixture worry!

I want to replace my entire head light and tail light fixture and I am wondering about fitment and condensation build up. If I replace the fixtures do I have to worry about condensation build up or anything or do they usually fit pretty well and have good molding? Thanks!

Fitment and leakage have been issues with many people on SL. You can add the sealant of your choice before installing your new lights as a precaution.

Fitment doesn't really have much to do with condensation. It has to do with whether or not the light is sealed properly. If you get lights from a reputable company such as the TYC's or Anzo's, you should be fine. Why not look into swapping some factory headlights such as the 08's or specs.

your question is kind of weird....where are you worrying about condesation? I mean you didnt even say if your putting in Anzos, stock 08's, TYCs, or anything. Maybe if you let us know what you plan on doing a bit more, we would be able to help you a little bit more. As for condesation in your (im assuming) new headlights and tails...you get what you pay for... buy cheapy ebay heads...youll most likely get water (once again assuming since i dont have those mods)...but ive never heard of tycs leaking or anything like that

I didnt find any write ups about sealent... any thing I should look into? Will you be able to see the sealent after the fixture is in place? I don't want it to look shoddy.

Yeah, I know. But from what I've seen, the fitment issues are (relatively) minor. Like mounting tabs being slightly off. Nothing that can't be fixed.

Most people use some sort of silicone. The majority of the seam is not visible and what you can see is usually hidden by the hood. If you take your time and don't glob it you should be ok.

There is another type of sealant you can use (can't remember off the top of my head) that will make your life a lot easier if you decide to open the new headlights later on.

Ok, well I guess that was my question was if the new tails and heads would matter on seal. Let me just give you an example on the head lights I want, and yes they are from ebay but they dont seem cheap. Would these need to be sealed?

^^Yeah, head lights are more prone to leaking than tail lights. It's rare, but I have seen it on aftermarket tails for the tC.

well, no one has chrome headlights and I think it would look nice on the Blitz Blue. I am sick of everyone having the same mods.

maybe no one has chrome headlights because they are GOD AWFUL UGLY. Chrome headlights belong...hmm on store shelves never to be sold lol. I can understand your feeling of the "same ol mods"...ever consider taking a set of lights and doing them up yourself? i totally hear you on something different, but ive seen the chrome in person and its just not cool...almost cheap, and screams RICE!... but its "what moves you" .... so if you like it, go for it! but dont expect anyone else to like it lol good luck my friend

I've seen a few floating around on the boards.

It's going to be next to impossible to simply buy something and put it on your tC and be the only one. If you purchased it, someone else can too. And probably already has.

Chrome head lights are rare on the tC (at least on SL), so you're heading in the right direction for uniqueness. I'd say that since you'll have two sets of head lights, you should take the extra step and do something to your new lights. I mean, you're considering sealing them up anyway right? Why not bake 'em open and do some custom color matching or something first?
