It's an Alpine CDA-9883, I have this harness, SCOSCHE TA02B and connected everything just fine, but it wont turn on? Am I missing something here?

 

Start with the simple stuff first... is the key in the ignition? Did you check your fuses? Did you disconnect your battery? More importantly, did you re-connect your battery?

 

I didn't disconnect the battery, I turned the ignition switch after I got done doing the wiring and the Head Unit will not turn on, this is sort of ____ing me off considering I wired everything right...Fuses, well I have to check the fuse on the HU? If so, that's going to be a pain to check, but I'll check it.

 

also, the SCOSCHE wiring adaptor came with a black wire, I connected the ground black wire from my head unit to this wire, would that be the problem?

 

so Now I plug in the stock HU and now that doesn't even turn on anymore??? WTF

 

Fuse?

 

The fuse on the Alpine looks good, what other fuses are there and where are they located?

 

under the dash, black cover with a a bunch of fuses drawn on it

 

I don't see a stereo fuse under that fuse box, am I missing something?

 

Idk, there might not be one, there is another fuse box in the engine bay

 

F*CK, checking every fuse is going to ____ me off.

 

found the issue, blown fuse...problem...keeps blowing fuses!!!! #7.5 accessory fuse. WTF

 

check the wiring

 

If you keep blowing fuses...your wiring may not be right.

 

probly the power wire is wrong

 

stopped blowing fuses now...HU still doesnt turn on. gg

 

i think i'm color blind...because as far as i can tell, every wire is color matched...i spent alot of time with crimping males > female ends for them and i still got nothing.


even my stock HU wont power on anymore.. wtf

 

you probably messed up your radio or blew that 2 re check all the wires or take a pic of how you have it connected so we can see and maybe give you more advice

 

sounds like you mixed up a wire somewhere and shorting power out, thus blowing fuses.

it's not always about color matching... it's all about making sure you got the speakers, the power, and everything else wired properly.

can't help much further without seeing what you've done.

 

find a dmm or test light and get to work.
