Headunit problem!!
Yea well I just got this new all in one HU and I have had lots of experience installed stereos and stuff but this problem is weird......
I have the toyota wire harness and I had a regular pioneer HU then I was switching to my new 2 din all in one Hu. So the first thing I did was to see if I was getting power to the stereo before I start wiring everything up. So I did the regular ignition ground battery and even the remote wire (note:not all in that particular order) I also taped up everything that would short or ground out like extra remote wire speaker wires and back up camera power. So anyways as soon as the stereo gets power the fuse behind it which is a 10 amp pops. And I have tried everything else that I know. S0o0o someone HELP!!.............maybe I have a bad HU?

does the fuse blow as soon as you screw in the bottom side? or does it blow just when the unit starts to power up? i would try just disconnecting the unit from the harness, and then put a new fuse in and see if it blows. if it doesnt blow with the unit disconnected, you know it has something to do with the unit.
Sorry I wouldnt be able to do that because the fuse is mounted directly on the stereo itself....its not a inline fuse that is with the harness. So if i was to do what you said nothing would happen.
Can you get your hands on a multi meter.?..... check the voltage coming in on the acc wire to ground wire and the +12v wire to ground wire. See if its a clean 12v. Do you have a replacement unit in there right now that works?
hmmm that I wouldnt really know...its the harness that came with it im using.....also i went to a car audio/visual shop to have them check it out and they told me it could be the solder the company used to solder the power in the stereo may have not been soldered right so it may have spread apart and its giving power to somewhere else.
IF all your wiring is fine..it sounds like a short within the new deck itself...you said it was "new"..idk if that means you just bought it or it is just new to you but still used...if you just bought it, I'd take it back to wherever you got it and swap for a new one. From all the defective decks I've removed from vehicles..it's usually a bad head unit if the fuse that's on the deck (right below/above the harness input) is blowing fuses.
yea I figured it was the head unit after I blew s0o many fuses including the car stereo fuse....I tried everything that I know to get it working even to a seperate power supply and everything....I already contacted the manufacturer and they said to ship it out soo I did....and I hope I get a perfect one!!...Thanx for the help ppls!
buy another car-side harness and make sure the colors match. While you might have a bad deck, its more likely the car-side harness has the pin configuration wrong.
Especially if its one of those universal walmart harnesses that have all sorts of extra plugs and wires hanging off.

Im not sure about all eclipse products, but im pretty sure you dont even need a harness. Since eclipse is owned by fujitsu and fujitsu is owned by the same company toyota is owned by, the harness were identical. Thats how it is for my 5435 at least. I didnt need to spice or cut a thing. The factory harnesses plugged right into the new double din and everything worked, including the steering wheel controls. Are you sure you even need a harness?
^exactly, if it's the eclipse double din then no you don't need a harness so my suggestion is if you do have a harness then remove it and plug it in directly. i had one before and thought how cool it was to just plug it in unlike any other headunit.

I haven't seen a single din eclipse yet that matches the factory w/o an aftermarket harness. Then again i'm about 2 yrs out of the install biz, so that might've changed recently.
