Default Help With Installing Scion Premium Stereo/ Radio in Tc

Okey so my stereo just came in the mail I believe I can install this myself or a place by me will do it for 40 bucks is taking apart the dash very hard? I have a 2005 Tc and I'm putting an 08' Deck in the car.

Can anyone help on the wiring? Is it any different?

Thats the stereo

dude.. this is about the easiest thing... i've swapped mine out several time in a past few weeks... pull the lower part of the waterfall out, pull off the main waterfall (with the door), then unbolt the top of the radio brackets, unscrew the lower brackets, unplug everything in the back, stick the new radio in and plug eveything back in.. this shouldnt take more than twenty mins to do...

Use popsicle sticks to gently pry with if you are concerned with breakage or leaving marks on your waterfall. But I am not sure of the 08 headunit is compatible with an 05. I thought the connectors were different. You'll know as soon as you pull the old one out. Keep us posted...

Save yourself $40 and DIY. Try searching to see if you can find a waterfall removal DIY.

1. Start at the shift surround and pull from the sides.
2. Then start at the bottom of the waterfall and pull.
3. Follow up to the top and continue pulling.
4. Watch out for the AC/Heater duct at the top.
5. Unplug the HVAC and set the waterfall on a SOFT surface.

That's it. Before you start anything, make sure your radio cover door is closed. You'll
laugh at how easy it is to take it off. GL.

Hahaaa well i thku to all. I did it and it took an hr ill post sum pic. Im pretty impressed at how user friendly they made that I dont even have a high school diploma n i did it. I couldnt get into the guy who cud do it till friday so i said ima go for it.

It works all cables are the same suprisinlgly i was worried but it has a bunch of ports that are not used in the 05 such as the ipod capability and the controls on the steering wheel. My parents were actually mad at me for doing it hahaa but now they dont have anything to say.

One again thanks KrazyAznScion you helped me out a lot

Hey got a question for yall, I just picked up the bazooka 10" sub for real cheap and was wondering do you just plug this bad boy straight up into the back of the stereo. I have an 09 with the same radio that PBCsolutions installed.

I mean i have the install kit and the long wire harness, has anyone had problems just plugging it straight up to the back of the radio, because the stock sub in the trunk is not cutting it for me? I have seen pictures of the back of the radio and it looks like it just plugs right in, does anyone have another opinion?
thanks
