Default Help LOUD audio noise all of a sudden...

Hey everyone I need your guys help on trying to solve my audio problem

Setup: Pioneer avic-D3, 2 channel amp for the front speakers and a 2 channel amp for the subs. 1.5F capacitor. Front speakers are components and rear speakers are factory and not amplified. The power is being run on one side of the car and the RCA,signal and the speakers wires are on the other side of the car.

The problem: Today while changing the air filter and listening to music the cross over terminals touched metal and suddenly the subs thumped at a constant high volume. Right now when I turn the key one click the subs have that some thump and music coming out of all the speakers sounds good but when I turn the key one more time both front speakers have a high static noise sound coming out of them. The static noise remains constant from volume zero and on… When I roll the windows up and down you can hear them being rolled up or down out of the front speakers. When I turn the car on the static noise changes to a winding noise and remains at a constant loud volume from volume zero and on. FYI the rear speakers don’t have a problem at all.

What I have tried…
1) Reconnected the car battery
2) Reconnected the speaker wires from the crossover that touched the metal
3) Reconnected all the cables from the back of the AVIC-D3 including signal wire and RCA’s
4) Reconnected power, ground, signal and rca from both amps.

thanks in advance

had that happen on my old car the cheap way around the problem was to put a rca noise filter between the d3 and the amp
check all your fuses and grounds
i would also replace the connector or cut of the end of the wire that grounded out for a new clean contact point

about the RCA i know they are not touching anything cuz after disconnecting them from the back of the head unit i reconnected them and used electric tape around them. I even switched the ones connected to the amp running to the subs and the speaker and i still have the same problem

Amplifier's freak out when the speaker outputs are shorted to ground, and damage usually happens. It sounds like when the crossover terminals touched ground - the input filters on the amplifier(s) were damaged.

Try disconnecting the RCAs and turn the system on. Is there noise? Roll the windows up and down (trying to induce noise).

Is there noise in both amplifiers? If not, swap the two, and see if the noise moves to the other speakers.

Is the amplifier under warranty?
