Default help me become sublicious

yes. i searched. but only found bits and pieces.

i'm getting ready to install a sub 'n amp to the stock h/u in my '07 tC (well, it's really the wife's but i kinda took it from her). i'm doing an ed stealth install using their custom enclosure and one sq-10, although after seeing the double sq-10 stealth install Golden86 did, i might do that. the amp will be hidden on top of the spare tire.

anyway, i'm drifting a bit... what i am really looking for is a diy, or walk through for someone who's never done the wiring for an install like this. i understand most of the panels in our cars pry off easily, and i have the add 'n amp connectors from alpman, but being a wiring 'noob' i would just like to know that when i'm done, the wipers won't turn on when i adjust the tuner, or something like that.

thanks, 'n sorry if i sound like wiring woosie, but hey, i am, 'n i'm a little proud of it.

I was a noobie to it to haha but I did what everyone said
Just start SLOWLY...pulling pieces off.
Also you need to take the back seats out...well not really but its so much easier once they are out.
The bottom piece of the seats just pulls out with the right amount of force they are held in by some weird boomerang looking piece of metal that kind of holds them there by bending.
You will need a 13mm socket wrench I think?
Other than that just pull the wiring threw where all your other wiring is. Make sure to keep the power cord on the separate side of the car or else you could get a nasty little fuzz with your music and no one likes that.

The center console just pulls off as well first pull off your shift boot part of it.
Then there will be two screws unscrew those and then pop off the top one.
Then the rest is self explanatory unless you have a stock HU then I do not really know how to do it.

btw, is there any idea on where the best place is to pull the power cable through the firewall? i'm assuming this is the better way to do things instead of running it under the car...

ok, cool.

now, i have a basic question about 1 sub, or 2. i feel pretty confident that i could build the double 10 enclosure that golden86 built here...

http://www.scioncaraudio.com/showthread.php?t=1043

but i am wondering, in such a small enclosure, do you really gain much by trying to push 2 subs? i understand 2 subs + bigger amp = more spl's, but is more really sounding better in this case?

any feedback would be great as i'm almost ready to build/install.

depends on airspace. That box probably has enough air for both subs...

The SQ10 doesnt require alot of airspace in a sealed box, so it is possible to get dual SQ10s. Sure, it would probably be louder since the SQ10 is only rated for 250W/500W, so two should definately make a difference. Good luck with the install and building the box

thanks for the input... although i'm still debating which way to go... 1, or 2 subs.

anyone have a single sq10 installed with the oem h/u...?

would like to know what they think.
