Help with my Car A/V setup please.
Installing a JVC KW-AVX706 in my 2005 Scion XB and was wondering if I needed any kind of dash kit and/or harness. Also hooking up a 1200KX.1(the older all black model) to 2 10"L7's and wanting to know what my best bet for an amp wiring kit and all that I would need for that setup, what brand, how much wiring as far as length, what gauge, rca cables, etc.
For this setup should I put a deep cycle battery, cap, or should I not worry about it.
In advance thanks for the help.

ok, lets take this one step at a time
dash kit, any time you have a head unit thats not the same size as the factory hole in the dash then yes you need a dash kit, theres lots of places to find them online, or check at your local audio store.
second, wiring harness, this is something that you dont need if your experienced, but even shops use them to make life easier, it takes the guess work out of wiring head units, again try looking around online or at a audio shop, if you cant find one there, buy yourself a good ammeter and put off a good hour or so to figure it all out.
third, theres a general theory in the audio world, and that is that less of more is better, if a customer came to me and wanted 2 10" subs, i would tell him to consider one 12" less number of speakers, of bigger size sound better always, less distortion and such, however if the reason you want 10's is cause of the application location thats fine. with 2 tens and that amp you shouldnt need more than an 8 or 4 gauge wiring kit, rockford fosgate makes some nice ones. and as far as your powering issues. what that application you will probably be ok just hooking it up to your stock battery, however keep in mind that power compasitors are just kinda like a rechargable battery to run the audio components, which meens its just a patch for a problem, people coming into the shop like to get caps cause they usually are cheaper and easier to install, but my show car has a yellow top deep cycle battery to power it... i hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions...

Thanks for the tips. The receiver is a double din like the current radio. I would rather have gone with 1 10" or 1 12" but I got a really good deal on 2 10's that are already in a box that fits perfectly in the trunk.
