HELP!!!my scion peoples
ok i searched around for a DIY for a subwoofer and an amp install.....but.....all the DIY i found were not for 08 tc which comes with its own sub....can anyone help me with a DIY....PLEASE......
power cable goes from the positive battery to the amp.
ground cable hooks on any of the bolts on the car near by your amp which is your negative to your amp.
audio jacks or adaptors (for stock i think) go to the amp.
speaker cables go from amp to sub, and thats it.
the wiring is however you want it, make sure the power and audio cables are opposite sides of the car when you wired to the back.

I would take it to a shop....I'm an MECP Advanced Certified installer at Best Buy and if I had a dollar for every stereo that I have fixed after people tried doing it themselves..I'd be able to retire tomorrow. I have seen some ridiculously dangerous stuff done w/ wiring from people who didn't know what they were doing. Honestly...this isn't a $500 crappy beat up Civic you just got from a junk yard...it's a brand new car. Don't go tearing/ghetto rigging stuff up in your nice new car. Trust me..I've seen it done TOOOOOO many times (ALMOST daily...)
I know you want to learn how to do things so I suggest paying a professional to do it at first...then you go and examine HOW they did it and what they did to fully understand what is the proper way of doing the install...that way next time you can tackle it yourself.

btw, you can unplug the stock sub.
but plugging in the other wires? not so easy... wouldn't really plug anything... (you'll need more stuff)
imho, start first at changing out the stock headunit if you're looking to improve your audio system. you can make your job easier by dealing with a better headunit that allows for easier connection to an amp via rca's
no need for a LOC or whatever with the stock HU.
