Help with painting Scion tc plastic engine cover
Hey guys so I decided to paint the plastic engine cover blue....first I applied Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter..then Duplicolor Metal Cast Ground Coat...the finally 3 coats of Metal Cast Color Paint.....not some of the areas of engine cover appear nice dark blue but some areas are turning light blue...even after applying even coats...what should I do? How can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated
Just the enamel worked? I learned how to do it from this website:

I think what the problem might be that I used cleaner with bleach to clean the cover
. I should have used dishwasher detergent but oh well we will see tomm how it actually looks. Pray to god guys that it turns out well

the thread is about messing up a engine cover and you said you messed up your LED swap. i understood that. i just thought it wasnt really helpful in this thread.. and i like my xb same engine more space.
would washing it really help? wouldnt sanding it down and wiping it with a wet towel the same?

well if you did with wet cloth it would do the same but what I did was used the bleach with all purpose cleaner to clean the engine cover and i think that played the role in messing the cover up
. I will post pics of it tomm so you can see what I am talking bout. I think it says I can recoat it after 7 days so I will see if that helps.
i have painted afew covers and all i ever do is degrease them with some sort of cleaner, then i scuffed with a 3m pad and painted one or two coats of paint and mine always turned out looking good, maybe its the paint your using, i just use reg paint, nothing fancy
Grab some sand paper and some elbow grease and sand it all off. Use some wax and grease remover and repaint it. This time get a little crafty with it. Paint the hump a different collor and the letters. It will make it look 10x better! Good luck!
Use some grease remover or rubbing alcohal before repainting it that way you dont get thoes fish eyes! And then I didnt belive it but once painted use some 1500 grid sandpaper and wetsand it before you clear it. The finish comes out ALOT better!! Didnt belive it untill i did it myself
