Ok,

Well the attempt to install ANZO tail lights has gone horribly wrong. I am on the verge of a breakdown right now, mentally not mechanically.

The #9 10 Amp fuse blew. So i pulled it out, it looked weired, no prongs and melted. (I'll try and find the fuse)

I figured it was a mini-mini fuse or something. I was wrong.... So right now i have prongs stuck up in my fuse box, that i cant reach, i have no brake lights, i am freaking out right now.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Is there any hope?

can't reach, ok, I'm noticing that the other fuse has a large amount of scratch, and it doesn't look like its broke/melted, I'm not really sure?

 

The fuse on the right is the correct type of fuse, the one on the left does not go in our cars. There's nothing stuck in your fusebox. The smaller (and correct) fuse is the Littelfuse Series 897, which can pretty much only be found at your dealer (offline) or Mouser Electronics (online).

I went through much the same situation when I popped my first fuse in the tC (aux plug in center console). Pulled the fuse out, looked at it, and said, WTF is this thing? Was probably 4 months before I finally made it down to the dealership and picked up a replacement.

 

actually ive gotten them from kragen auto b4.

 

I've checked Kragen, Autozone, Pep Boys, NAPA... nothing.

 

The Celica has this kind of fuse too. Told them that they can only find it at the dealers for now.

 

i went to 3 different autozones and 2 advanced autos till i found their last 2 boxes of our fuses. they are micro fuses. i figured they were so hard to find so i bought em both!

 

yeah those are hard to find, nothing from autozone, advance autoparts, pepboys.. then I found a nice set at Oreily's.. I would recommend getting a spare set if you find one.

The only variety pack I've ever seen online is like $30. If you blow that many fuses during your ownership, someone should take your keys away. And kick you in the ankle.

 

really that much for those fuses? i got a variety pack for like 5 at a kragen up here.

oh and that damn cigarette lighter.. i replaced that thing like twice on its own. lol

 

Why you got to kick people in the ankles?

 

yeah i paid about $5 for a variety pack of micro fuses
