Default Hot sunroof

My car was recently torched by an angry X girlfriend. she only managed how ever to burn the seats, the center console and my heater control unit. It still runs and the body is in perfect shape. Here is the problem she destroyed my headliner and my sunroof switch so I cant get my sunroof closed. I bought my car back from the insurance company for 1K (couldn't help it I love her ) so is there any way to manually shut your roof. I just want to do it before it gets cold. I don't care if it opens again. I will deal with it next summer. It is just cracked not actually all the way open. If anyone has any ideas I would be very thankful.

you try manually jumping the correct wires?

worse case scenario.. you can upgrade to a fiberglass or CF roof from Kaminari..

if you got like $695/$995 laying around

Take the coltrols off and there should be an outlet with little pins. Each pin is connected to a circuit, ground, or the product and when 2 pins are touched at the same time the sunroof will open, close or not do anything. You need to get a fuse tester that hooks up to a 12 v power system and then take the pins from the fuse tester and touch each pin in a different combination and one of those will shut the window. A mechanics shop could do it. Thats how they close open windows on doors that are off the car.

Now sue your x

If the circuit itself is dead you can also just pull the motor, close the glass and reinstall the motor. The motor is right above the switch and interfaces with a gear setup to the roof.

After that, light that b!tches head on fire and beat the flames out with a bat.

Seriously though, not even I have been with a girl THAT fkd in the head, and if you knew some of the psychos I dated, that is saying alot

There should be a manual close bolt on the motor somewhere... I recall having to use it on my Lexus and my body's integra. It's a fat bolt... I think the manual shows it's exact location.

Go to toyota tech info (tis) and download all you want of the manual for 10 bucks. They will have the repair manual, service campaigns, etc on there. That 10 bucks gets you a days subscription, so you should be able to download all you need in that time.

Once the motor is out, you may have to look up in there to see what is still holding it (it may have melted the plastic gear/rack. Get your head close to the windsheild and look back into the hole where the motor is and you should see a white peice that slides back and forth to close the roof.

hey everyone thanks for all the input. I got it shut today just before it started puring cats and dogs. what you must do in order to maneuver the slides is take the glass off then use a long screwdriver to move the slides to where they are unlocked. Basically when the glass is all the way open or all the way closed there are these plastic locks that move along your sliders. these lock it into position whenever it is fully open , half way open or fully shut. Thanks again
