Default How do you install short shifter with bushings?

I just got my Megan racing short shifter for $65 new & shipped, it includes metal bushings a shift-**** and hardware needed for install...

But I have no idea on how to install the metal bushings, I checked out the TWM shifter install, but it didn't mention anything about metal bushings... please give a tip or a DIY on how to install metal bushings ...

or at least give me a link on an install like this.

Thanks...

does the Megan racing short shifter kit come with the ones under the airbox?
I only have 4 bushings (I think its for the "interior")

how much would the linkage bushings' cost in "scionlife pricing? what does it do anyway?

thanks...

Check out www.doctorisotope.com. He makes the shift linkage bushings out of delrin. Cool stuff.

All you do is take out the rubber bushings and tube insert at each of the 4 corners of the cage (they just pop out) and then replace with the aluminum cage risers. its simple i just did the same install on Saturday.

damn! I tried to install it 12:30AM "a few hours ago" and got to the removal of the covers I got the springs and pins...

but the next part is taking out the supposed to be "plastic" lock washer holding the bolt... and I tried the flathead screwdriver i have "the thinnest I have" and still cant pry it out I have no strength that time.

Anyone have a tip on removing this safely but not destroying the housing? I dont want to use a dremel tool because I dont have one and dont want to buy one just for that lock washer...

I just installed the base bushings, and will try to pry that thing out again after I get tips...

thanks!

i did it with 2 flat heads one i had to force in and then work it around to bend it a little bit. once i had enough room for my big flat head i stuck it in and my small one on the other side and pried outwards and it eventually broke and flew off. just keep working at it. you will have to get something behind the lock washer in order to make progress it will bend some plastic but wont hurt anything.

I kinda bent it a bit and the plastic for the housing is getting bent everytime...

need help, or I'm going to home depot and get a rotary tool today!
