definately appreciate the write up! i'll be doing mine in about a month once i have my own garage (spray booth) i'll be using automotive paint. one problem i am having is deciding on whether or not to do the vents and if i do them do i paint the center ones. i think it would look kinda goofy since with the waterfall painted the same colors as the vents it would kinda look like a frame around the HVAC and radio. i have a BSP and am going to be painting the same things in the write up RS1 red so maybe i'll do the vents in BSP. I dunno, i still have a month or so to decide.

yeah the waterfall is cool as it is. you're right on the frame look and I think that might looks goofy. Just one mans opinion though

in the center? maybe if you do the whole center part of the waterfall in that color, than maybe. but not if you do some bsp, leave some silver and than another color on the sides. too many colors going on. if you do the side vents, do them the same as whatever color yours going to do the rest of the parts. bottom line, i think there should only be one other accent color in the car.

ehhh, im not a big fan of painting the vents, i think it kills it, just makes it look like theres to much going on. but thats just my opinion, do some searching and find some pics to see if you like it, and if you do, then go for it!

I think i'll just leave the center vents alone and just paint the outer ones the same color as everything else. I'm going to bag it towards the end of the year so i'll probably put the air gauges there and delete the center vents.

I dont know where to find car color specific paints. A Gloss finished paint, or a clear gloss when you're done will make the finish "shiny" ... or glossy. For the rest of the info you're looking for, do a search, there are lots of other posts with detailed instructions on painting.

Do it yourself, you'll appreciate it more! Practice on a spare piece of plastic first!

well i dont really have the time to practice enough to feel comfortable it'll take me like 2-3 months and materials. plus, if there's sum1 who knos how to do it correctly they deserve the side job opportunity. and i'll appreciate anything that costs me more than 50 bucks. im not rich but im obsessed with my toy lol. 100 to me is 10 hrs of work lol

if someone wants stock pieces to try to paint for their own car, check ebay as i saw a ton of " unusual" parts on there for sale ( as in every tiny piece almost like from a chop shop)_
