How do I open the transmission indicator (located at the auto shifter) to expose and replace the bulb? I went as far as removing the bottom section of the center console, but I can't seem to remove the auto shifter panel. Thanks for your help.

The PRNDL cover is a snap on unit. You need to gently pry it off with a small screw driver. It takes a bit of effort and I was a little scared at first but it came off and snapped back on without any problems.

 

mine doesn't light up at all......is that something custom you guys did or has mine not worked since I bought the car. Wouldn't suprise me since I got a lemon

so the letters are supposed to light up? I didn't think anything of it since the gears light up in the guages.

 

Yes. The letters should light up.

 

I changed mine to blue a few weeks ago. It wasn't that hard. I just kind of pryied one side up with my hand and then the other side. The bulb can be pulled out. It uses the same blub as the cubby hole.

 

What do you do after you pry it off. How do you get to the bulb? I dont see it. It would be nice if there were pics.

any pointers on where you should put the screw driver to minimize any chance of breaking the clips? also how do you get to the cubby light? i tried needle nose pliers, twisting and pulling but the dang thing wont come out. im afraid to squeeze it and break the bulb in there.
