Default HU Replacement to use factory installed ipod Connection

I was wondering if there are any HD's out there which you can buy that will work exactly as the Pioneer HU works that has the iPOD connection with it. I want to be able to control my iPOD like I do know as well as the steering wheel controls....

well you could always find the pinouts for the radio end of the cable and then get whatever ipod connection you would need for the new radio. then just cut off the ipod connector on the new box and wire up the factory cable. sounds complicated but it can't be that hard. i don't think anybody makes an HU/Ipod connection that works as well as the factory option except for maybe pioneer and alpine with their dvd/nav units. anyways, if you do what i suggested let me know i'd like to see how you went about doing it

I won't half to replace the HU if I can find some speakers that will work well with this headunit. Everybody keeps saying that the EQ settings already in the default radio could mess up my new speakers I'm going to buy.... I guess I just need to purchase the speakers and see what it sounds like.... the go from there....
