Default I got my firmwareworx parts! READ UP W/Pics

I have good news and I have bad news...

First off, the good news.

I got all my stuff.

The bad news.

The only piece I installed was the gauge cluster. Looks nice, but it is not an exact replacement for the original. It is not the same shape. On the top of the speedometer it covers where the top of where it says 70mph. You can't see the full circle. Completely annoying. Secondly, it doesn't line up flush with the top of the dash. There is about a 1/4 inch gap between the cluster and the dash. Also completely annoying/unacceptable.

I attempted to install the armrest cover. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure that one out. There are no instructions included with it. I removed it from my car, took it inside my house and looked at it. I couldn't figure out how to attach it. Maybe because I have a leather top it is somehow different? Regardless, im not really complaining about that one, but instructions would have been cool.

I have the mirror covers sitting in my room, also instructions would have been awesome, but again, not really complaining.

Honestly all I wanted originally was the gauge cluster. And I finally got it, and it doenst fit right. I don't know what to do. Totally frustrated.

This isn't meant to bash firmware, i never did and never will. Just an honest description of the parts I have received and attempted to install.

Since LeBeast (Mike) got back, service has been excellent and I am pleased with it, but as far as quality of part goes, dissapointed in the cluster, can't say for the other two pieces.

Edit: I don't have a camera, but I will take some with my phone and try and upload them tonight when I get home. Stupid work getting in the way of my car ><

Edit: Pics

does the gauge cluster have clips?

if so it might sound weird, but cut the clips off (they dont line up exactly) and then use double stick tape to line it up.

if that doesnt work let me know, i got mine yesterday and it fits pretty good. not perfect but a little messin around with and it will fit.

as for the armrest cover, you need to take off the fabric and foam and attach it with double stick tape.

good luck and let me know how everything goes.

for the prices they charge IMO i think they should be a perfect fit and should have the fitment tested prior to shipment.

it should be close to OEM if the clips arent there. the clips are the only thing stopping it from fitting properly.

You shouldn't need to modify anything, much less cut it up and use double sided tape to make it fit, that cost that much.

Firmware, ha

explain body kits...

you can spend a lot of money on them and they are held on by double stick tape and screws... and you ahve to cut them to fit. a lot of aftermarket things require some sort of "working with" to get them to fit properly. thats why they are aftermarket not OEM

Which is exactly the reason I'm never buying a body kit. If anything, it would be a Lip kit.

Not saying they don't take working with, but most of the time they take barely any.

Honestly there is no reason to actually have real carbon fiber interior parts. It's nice if it gets you points for shows but it's mainly for bragging rights. Hey if you got the money, spend it.

You'd be better off just rapping the interior parts in CF Vinyl if not painting them though. Much cheaper same look.

cheaper yes same look no. cf vinyl doesnt have the same look real cf does. and these parts dont require as much work as you may think. i have a lot of them on my car now and im very pleased with them. and with the LITTLE work i had to put into them i got them to fit 99% perfect.

im not bashing CF bro and im lookin forward to checking out ur finished dash.....im glad u "been there done that"......but in my opinion if u get ur stuff painted the right way it could look so much better than CF and u dont have to worry about spending 175 on a gauge cluster that doesnt fit right and requires extra modding....ive noticed this increased crave for CF......CF this CF that....is like a competition to see whos got the most CF....lol....once again i do like CF but the furthest i would go is a hood and maybe the hatch.....thats it for me

i gotcha, and i do agree that if you get the dash painted right the first time it will look good.

im just in need of somethin different thats why i got the CF dash. (and everything else)

Hey I understand the CF craze, considering I'm a huge junkie over here waiting on my hood and engine cover :D

But I have seen some nice vinyl raps to where I cant tell the difference.

its not the same at all. CF > overlays and the gauge and center console are still pre-production parts from what i've heard so we'll see how it goes
