Default I need some help from the box building guru's...

Okie, here is the project. I need a box designed for 2 crossfire xt215. Right now, i have one in the old box that my 16.O was in. Here are the requirements.

1. can be sealed or ported. (prolly sealed due to size restriction)
2. needs to fit in the back of the tc w/ the rear seat up. (perferably, w/ 2 inch so it can relcine)

other then that, you have free domain.

here is a link to the tech info on the sub. ill list some of it below, but the link has much more and a few suggested box spec's (that wont work with a tc app)

42 wide 28 deep and 12 high are the max demensions of the trunk if i remembered correctly in the tc's trunk, so the box design is probably need to be creative

id like to keep the spare tire, but im willing to give the space up.

Id rather stay away from fiberglass for 2 reasons. 1) ive never heard one that sounded very good. 2) i dont know if id want to toss 3k rms into a fiberglass box.

Wow... TWO 15's? Yikes.

I run two lil' 8's with deadoning and max out the tolerances in ears at 3/4 volume.

Here's my design, Which I run my 8's with ported, which you'd just have to make much bigger and angle a little different to get to work...

This is the funniest thing I have heared in a while in car audio. Here is how you can do it. Make the back of a box fiberglass so that it goes inside the rear fender and follows it's contour. That right there will give you a lot of space to play with. The front of the box can be mdf board or fiberglass. The box will have a lot of space and won't stick out too far from the side of the trunk.

Yeah...so...without glassing...it's pretty much impossible to make a box big enough for those space hogs....you really do need to glass the bottom/sides to get more room.

once you get the quote for fiberglassing something, get back here and post the price. If you are saying that a box would cost you $3k, you are being ripped off. At least we can tell you if you are charged appropriate price for the work you are getting done.
