First off i would say take it and have it installed by a good shop. Do you have a tech sheet for the car?( gives you all the wire colors and locations of them). Do you have the proper tools to do the job?( Wire strippers, multi meter, soldering iron, solder, tape) Do you or have you ever hooked a key bypass system up before? ( this is needed to remote start the car, and can be a pain in the butt to hook up) Is your car an Automatic or a manual? (if it is a manual you are going to have to make somthing so if the car is left in gear, it will not remote start and drive off on yeah) If you answered no to one or all these questions, then i recomend paying to have it installed. I do this for a living and have done it for many years and i still get my butt kicked by a remote start alarm every once in awhile. So for some one who has never done this before and dosent have the right tools or knowladge to do it, it could be real overwheleming and you could possibly severly damage your car. Just my two cents.

Try doing posting about your install problem in your region on the forum. I know there are installers like ProshopxB on Scionlife maybe one is closer to you and would be willing to help out or install at a better price for a SL memeber. If you don't know what you are doing you can cause some serious problems. I'm pretty much in the same situation, but I've decided to just save the money and get my local stereo shop to do the install, that way I have some sort of peace of mind.

so... i guess no one has attempted to install it on there own.(non-professional). i know that it is hard to do, well anyways wondering is it really nessasary to use all the givin wires, cause i dont really need a remote start.
well how much did you people pay to have it installed? and how long did it take? my local audio shop is going to charge me 50 bucks an hour......

the manual from the Viper has the instructions...it says things like
3 pin plug. green wire ------door unlock
then you find the door unlock wire in the car and attact it to it...
continue till all your connections are done.
you can find all your wires in this thread...

also, if you are doing the remote start, did you get the bypass module???

Listen... Im an MECP Certified installer... You are going to need to diode Isolate alot of wires in this car. and use resistors. If u do not know how to do this, dont install it. I know for a fact the Door triggers are diode isolated, and the Locks are through resistors. just my two cents. Get a shop to do it.
