Default Interior Dash Paint

I have a charcoal tC just with the stock dash, and im seeing alot of people painting their dash and other things. When you do this, are yall using spray paint or acual paint guns? if spray paint what kind are you using, im considering doing it myself.

Well I've painted interiors before myself, but my years of expertise are in building high performance engines. So this time around, I had a good friend of mine that is a very skilled and talented custom painter do the interior of my 08 tC. I didn't do the dash. I did the gauge cluster trim ring, waterfall, steering wheel inserts, and the door inserts in a custom design of both SCM same as my exterior and BSP. Gives a very nice custom look that blends/flows with the rest of the car. If you paint anything else it's probably going to go from a nice custom look to pure rice.
I have heard of people using rattle can before. My friend did mine with a professional gun and paint booth. Trust me its worth the effort. It comes out looking just as clean and nice as the exterior.

If you still want to do yours yourself with the rattle can method. Do a search on here. There may still be some threads on it. If you cant find anything, you can shoot me a PM. I dont mind.

When it comes to what brand you use when painting your interior, a lot of people use Duplicolor and if you want to spend a bit more money, G2.

Totally agree with Mouse here
If you have the time/money to get it done in a booth you'll be more satisfied with the work.
I went with the rattle can and prefer to use Montana Hardcore
Other paints like Krylon are high water to paint ratio, 90w/10p (get alot of runs in the paint easily)
Montana Hardcore is alot higher 40w/60p (huge selections of colors and very resistant to ware; its graffiti paint )

i work at a body shop so it didnt cost me anything but i wouldnt think it would be over 150 bucks, and prolly cheaper if you could get the painter to do it under the table

if you scuffed the piece before you painted id just wipe off the paint with thinner and find the closest silver to the factory, thats just my opinion

I wouldn't suggest soaking parts that are plastic in thinners it might degrade and or warp them. The thick towel way is slow but alot better.
