Default ipod iTouch in 08 tC (factory pioneer headunit)

So i just an iTouch for christmas.. and i used to have a nano. Normally i could just plug in the ipod into the factory cable that was meant for the ipod however when i plug in the iTouch it doesnt find the iTouch. I get the "This will not charge this device" error on my iTouch screen. And then when i press the Ipod button on the head unit it doesnt even say its plugged in...

Questions:

1. So after all that, do i need a new cable the is compatible with the iTouch?

2. Is the iTouch not compatible at all?

3. or am i retarted?

Thanks,
Tom

I've heard some reports that it works with the iPhone/iPod Touch but won't charge it? Does it playback at all?

yeah apple kind of screwed everyone on that, the dock connectors in the newest ipods do not work/charge properly with the majority of exisitng docks/speakers/cables out there . . .

i've had a 5th gen video ipod and 1st gen touch that i'll never get rid of because I know anything newer won't play in my TC . . .

You need this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...X0DER&v=glance

Don't buy it from apple, amazon only wants $25 for it.

I have a 2nd gen touch, radio has no idea that anything is different, works great.

yea.. i like that charging thing. Apple always seems to make you spend more money after you buy a 300 dollar ipod haha. So nice of them.

Sometimes its a pita to sync TWO ipods every time. But the girlfriend always wants to play with the games on the touch, and considering the nano charges, I just leave the nano hooked up to use for the music and she can play with the touch. Also you only have to take the touch out when you wanna sync it to add new songs. Thats just my 2 cents
