iPod problem with Pioneer HU w/iPod
I'm just putting this out here to see if anyone else is having the same symptoms as I am having with my HU.
At random times, the music will stop playing, the readout shows as though the iPod is paused, the screen on the iPod shows the menu with the lightning bolt indicating it's charging, but there is no Scion logo, then suddenly, the Scion logo comes back, and music begins to play again.
I thought, ok, don't touch it, maybe it's a short in the connector or cable. That didn't seem to make a difference, it would still randomly stop, and then begin playing again.
It is now to the state that it won't begin again unless the iPod is unplugged and plugged back in a again. And sometimes even that does not work. It has been in an inoperable state for the last 3 days. You can connect the iPod, the scion logo shows up for a second then disappears, and it begins to charge.
I took it to the dealer today, and guess what...It worked perfectly, until I was almost home again. So they said they'd need to diagnose to see if it is the radio or the cable or the iPod before they just order a HU.
It's not the iPod, it works perfectly connected to my Alpine in my 4runner. Two full days of use in the 4runner without problem.
Anyone else with this?

I was having this problem as well. I talked to the dealership and they gave me a new cable (the one that runs from the plug in your CC to the iPod). This cleared up 90% of the problems...now if I could just get it to pick the correct albums when I am scrolling through artists.....
Hope that helps man.

Does my description outline your problems exactly?

What I did, with the advice of others on SL, is to create a ____e load of playlists. Completely solves the problem.
As for your problem, yes it fit it exactly. What I did was go to scion.com and go into tech chat. They then had me call them and setup a case number and to bring it into the dealership for the new cable. See, I tried to ask the dealership (my salesman) first about it and he said that it was a "known problem and sorry". So, if they give you crap, get ahold of Scion.
