ipod question

Default ipod question

So I've been thinkin about gettin an ipod. It's just a hassle with the huge amounts of cd's I own. The question I have is will it work with my Tc? I have an 07 with the base model stereo. I noticed the ipod aux connection in the armrest. So does it work with the base HU?

you can use that plug and plug in your ipod through the headphone jack. you still have to use the ipod to control the music though.

Default iPod head unit

You need the Scion T1806 head unit that has the ipod interface.
These are available on ebay usually.
They give complete control of the ipod from the head unit which means that the iPod can be left in the car out of sight.. This also charges it.
It's like a removable hard drive for your tuner.
You also need a cable that connects from the tuner to the ipod.

You don't NEED the iPod HU, but it's better.
You can't control with the steering wheel or HU controls, and the output is not as clean as the "dock" but it's more than good enough.

Default iPod cable

I have heard of a few people that have been able to find a junk yard that would let them strip the cable out of the car. Most would not allow you to do it for insurance reasons.
Those that did claimed that it took a few hours to do it without damaging the wires.
I believe that the person on ebay that sells the SC12235 cable also offers an exact replacement for that cable your looking for, if you contact him.

I have been scowering the forums for a week and all I can come up with is the Ipod cable. I have an 05 xA with the T1804 and wanting to put the 1806 in for the Aux headphone jack,but cant find any info on a cable or how it connects
PLEASE HELP!!

Default T-1806 Ipod Aux

Thanks for that. I found that part number (sc12237) before and searched ebay with no luck is that an OEM part # or just some guy making his own cables and #I would really like to set the xA up like my sons '08 Tc does anyone know the actual toyota part numbers to accomplish this I can find the Ipod #'s all day but nothing on the mini jack.

Default Scion AUX Cable

I saw these SC12237 cables on eBay last night and this morning.

I don't believe that this is available from Toyota, except as part of the main wiring harness.
