I'm hoping to get a tc in the near future and I was wondering a few things.

Ok first off is the ipod jack in the center console just a usb jack?

and second if yes, then can you plug in something like an external hard drive or a flash drive with music and play it on the radio?

I know of radios that will scan the device for music and play it, so i was just wondering if this was like that and they were just marketing it toward ipod for obvious reasons.

 

Its in the center console, and no, its not capable of reading USB devices, you would need to get an upgraded headunit

No. It has a non-standard port, and then a cable that goes from it to an iPod dock connector. Any newer iPod can connect to that.

There is also an auxiliary jack, where you can plug in any audio source through a regular headphone cable. This doesn't let you control the player from the stereo or charge it, but it does let you play through the stereo at full quality. This will work on any MP3 player.

So yeah, get another iPod.

 

I'm hoping to get a tc by the end of July. The sooner the better.
