i currently have the ipod interface pioneer stock headunit
i want to upgrade to a double-din would the ipod connector thats in the car still work or would i need a whole nother connector to play my ipod

 

It will work if you hook it up. Good luck figuring out how to do that because i'm not sure if anyone else has yet. But there is always a first for everything.

 

the stock ipod deck, runs through a bunch of connectors before it finally hits the deck. unfortunately if you upgrade your deck, your best bet would be just to get the ipod adapter made for the deck to get all the functions of the ipod. its just not worth it trying to resolder the normal cable for the stock ipod deck to work with the new one imo, and itll be hard for it to work since most likely youd need a box that will convert ipod information into info that the deck will understand.

 

in short, you need another connector. i upgraded mine and took out the original cable and replaced with an alpine ipod unit.
