Jacked partial headunit
Alright first off I know that its a strange situation, but I got a question that I need answering anyway. I dont own my tC yet (hopefully in about 2 weeks) but I dont have enough posts to post in the off topic forum yet:
I have a 626 es (not that its important) but it got broken into due to my messing up and not ensuring the doors were locked(I guess) but I was in a hurry to get to the dentist to get the wisdom teeth taken out (9th of March) and when I got into my car yesterday the glovebox was opened and the faceplate (and only the face plate) was taken from my car. All the CD's and everything were there and all. I think that someone thought it would be funny I suppose.
My question is:
If I buy a new faceplate to match the model number and all of the HU I had before, will it work on there? I know that if the faceplate is removed it makes the other part worthless (or there about) but if I put a different HU than the one that I had on it originally will it function like it did before?
Thank you in advance,
-Justin
P.S. I searched but nothing came up, if there is a thread for it, just link me. I honestly couldnt find it.

ok... first off... if you luck enough to find a matching face plate to your model radio that yes it will work just fine... the thing usually is... that the face plates are so expensive its worth it to just buy a new radio all together... as to the question of the functionality .... you have to not be so vague about it.. like as to what part you want to be the same or not be the same as the last unit...
You can purchase just the new faceplate from the manufacturer.
My aftermarket pioneer faceplate got messed up when we tried to swap the LEDs the first time around. Ordered a new one and worked w/out any problems.

alright, thanks a bunch guys. I just didnt know if the faceplate was unit specific or not.
As for the functionality, I just want it to work. I have to drive from Charleston, SC to Albany-ish, NY when I get relocated in 2 weeks... I can't make it that long in silence...
