JL Audio 10w7 Question
I'm buying a 10w7 and some new speakers. If I bought aftermarket speakers would I have to get a more powerful amp than the 500/1 that is recommended for the 10w7 by itself? Also, anybody have any recommendations for some quality (and loud) speakers for under $250? Thanks
With the 10w7, I suggest running the 500/1 amp and the 300/4 amp for your mids and highs. I'm running the infiniti Reference 6012's and actually like them! They are nice and clear!
They are under $250 too.
They are under $250 too.
yeah you need to seperate the two. the 500/1 is a good match for that sub. you wont be let down with any of the w7's but your not going to get massive bass from that set up. It all depends on what your looking for though.
As for the speakers, I am running powerbass 3XL's off a JL 300/4. The components are pretty solid. Granted these arent a set of Morel speakers but they do pretty well with high volume distortion. They have a pretty nice set of tweeters on them. For a little bit more I would look into the JL XR series too
anyway thats my $.02 haha

Dude the 2 W7's that I have in the back of my tC hit 145 db's and they are in a fiberglass and MDF box. Not to mention they haven't been tuned. But thats mainly because I can't get to the adjustment on the amp without taking apart my box... LMAO!
thanks for the feedback, this is helping a lot...haha no i'm not gonna be doin competition but my friend has a 10w7 and it is realllly loud and i love it, i am going to get a gain **** so i can keep it down when i don't want to hear it, but when I am driving through a parking lot or something i'll want people to feel me.
