Ended up paying 1,000 for headunit, amp, sub, and installation.

Alpine CDA-9883

seems a little high with a prefab box and mid / low level rca's but as long as you're happy with it.

Hows the sound........did you do any other speaker installs to upgrade the comps or just the sub and deck.

Na I didn't get any speakers install, its just the sub and deck. 1,000 is a lot but if you break down the prices of each item then it doesn't look so bad. Overall, the system sounds really nice and it bumps real nice

u shoulda shopped around and tried to get a deal through a local shop.
im gettin a avic D3, 2 12' subs, and a nice amp all in a custom enclosure for about $1500

well the US MD1D is pretty expensive but whoever told you to get that made a bad suggesstion.

After two days of listening, I have to say I really like this set up. The 12" Type r is real nice, I now heard bass in songs the I never knew exist. The alpine headunit really improve the stock speakers and the tweeters, was planning to upgrade them but that'll be put that on hold for now. Also with all the comment about me overpaying, I feel that I got a fair price but everybodies got their own opinion so it's all good
