Default Just installed sub/amp. Got some questions...

Just did my first install...took me around 6 hours because I couldnt figure out how to stick the power wire through to firewall and certain screws were on so tight that it took me a while to unscrew. I also took out alot of things that I didnt need to take out...

here is how it looks:

Is that a good place to ground the amp?
Is there sufficient airflow for the amp?

Also, I found a metal piece that came off of the center console when I took it off. I think it came off of the deck cover thing. Can anyone tell me how to put this back? The cover does not go back after I push on it. I have to manually open it up.

that peice looks like its from the door hinge, you might need that or you'll have to keep opening it manually.

that piece is the spring from the radio door, you will need it back in.

that ground spot is not gonna be good at all, mount ground to floor ,drill a small hole and use a good screw and mount it to the body securely.

I know it fell from the radio door, but I can't figure out how to put it back in. Is there a picture of where it belongs and how it goes in?

Also is there another place where I can attach the ground to? I don't want to drill any holes into the car and I don't have a drill anyways so that would be hard to do.

bump....any ideas regarding if the amp has sufficient airflow and how to increase it? Also a better place to ground the amp without having to drill hole (use an existing screw)??

I would do that, but I don't have a drill, thats why for simplicity sake I would rather use an existing screw .

Thats a ____y a ground. You can use that bolt but run the wire under everything. The wire has to touch the bare frame. I used the middle of those bolts. But first i used a dremel to sand away any paint then i mounted the ground.

Thanks Joyride, I'll probably try that.

I'm still worried about the airflow of the amp though. I often travel between the norcal and socal, which is about 450+ miles. Would the amp get too hot since its underneath the carpet? Or is it fine where it is?
