The brown wire that is supposed to go to the parking brake switch needs to be grounded and then it will work whenever.

It's not the brown wire, it's the Green wire that's connected to the parking brake sensor. Ground the wire and it'll work. That's how I did it with my DDX8017.

Default Parkwire

Take the green wire marked "Park" (possibly has a rectangle at the end of it or maybe not ) and connect it to the ground wire behind your radio or any other ground wire you want.

My bad, it is green. It is the green wire in the connector that only has 3 wires in it.The tag on it says PRK SW. Ground this wire.

It's in the connector right next to the yellow wire with the in-line fuse holder.

No, there should be a plastic connector with 3 wires in it that plugs into the back of the unit that has a black, a yellow with inline fuse, and the green wire. Do you have the manual?

OK, In the INSTALLATION MANUAL, page 4, one third of the way down the page, there is the green wire that goes to the parking brake switch. Directly below this wire is a wire labeled "C" Ground Wire (Black) - (to car chassis). Hook these 2 wires together and then ground them both.

its very easy ...take the wire that is marked ...to E BRAKE and connect that to the black wire from the harness, or loop it around a screw and secure it (which makes it ground) so there should be two wires going to the black groud wire from the harness

OK, Look on the back of the radio. From left to right there is first the disk changer input cable, then the antenna lead, then theAV in-out leads, then the pre-out leads then the 8-pin connector(that only has 3 wires in it) THIS IS THE ONE! Something tells me you might not have this harness. You need it if you don't have it.
