I'm interested in getting the Kenwood DDX7017 and I was wondering if it fit properly without problems in the open space where the stock head unit is, and if so, will the stereo cover still close?

Any other suggestions for good quality head units that fit?

 

Yes it will fit. You will have to re-drilled the mounting holes back about a 1/4 of an inch. Other wise the door wont shut. Do a search cause there is a ton of info on installing these units. 7017,8017,6017,7015, and the double din eclispe units are installed the same way.

 

I have the 8017 in right now, without re-drilling the holes. The radio door will close most of the way, but there will be a quarter-inch gap at the bottom. I need to re-drill the holes.
