Default Kenwood vs Alpine

I'm not a big fan of the stock speakers in the Tc and I'm wanting to put in some new ones. So far I like what I'm seeing from Alpine and Kenwood but can't decide on which one I should go for. Anyone with experience on there speakers?

I also had a question about the in dash touch-screen monitors and aftermarket stereos. Does it affect the steering wheel controls? I was also thinking about putting a monitor in my Tc but i don't really want to lose the steering controls.

Any feedback appreciated .

Also if you guys know of any sites with good reviews/comparisons that would be great to! Haven't been able to find much..

i haven't really decided on much of a price range. I'm willing to cough up big bucks for good quality stuff..i don't mind spending $300-$400+ for speakers if i have to. I don't know much about this stuff which is why i'm asking..i asked about alpine and kenwood cause i hear the most about them. I'm willing to spend as much as i need to. lol I know thats vague but thats the bottom line. I want to make sure i get good quality stuff. I'm not one to settle on a product just cause i can afford it. hope that helps a bit more

<--uber noob to speakers and sound systems in general.

ok, keep in mind you'll need an amp to power your components.

for 300-400 for front components i would highly suggest the DLS up6's. they go for 395 and they are absolutly amazing for the price. i personally run them and i love them to death. clear crisp sound, awesome highs and blend well.

you'll also need an amp and to not break your budget i recommend the eD nine.2x

plenty of power to push those dls speakers and more in case you want to step up to a 3 way in the future.

Wow.. methinks Nebster must own stock in eD.. do the shameless plugs ever end?

Check out Focal.. On a budget, Pioneer co-ax speakers pound hard.. Infinity seperates are also a decent choice.

uhh... its called me beliving in a company. no different then someone saying JL audio at every sub thread.

i've yet to find a pioneer component i've liked and infinity speakers are a joke.

focal is good but like boston you really have to get into their high end stuff for it to be a good for the $

xie i don't have a rear fill i just use the front components for my soundstage.

I have been thinking about running JL audio ZR up front and TR in the back... but also I am keeping an open mind to the ED stuff.
