i want to do a Gauge/HVAC, and steering wheel radio control blue LED swap in blue on my 2008 tC, i have seen a seller on ebay "Garage1217" who sells a complete kit to do this, but since i am a newbie, i would like to know what you all think, if this kit is good, and if it has everything i need to do the job., as for installation goes i have a friend who does that .here's the link:

Garage1217 is Jeremy who is located in AZ. He is always on this site and is very honest and does GREAT WORK. He is one of a few LED swappers on this site along with Trung (Sqaull)^^^. Your pick, they all do great work.

 

the friend part is taken care of for the install, he owns a customizing shop near me, i just want to have everything i need before going their..even has a website (HPMotoring.com)

 

does the customizing shop, or your friend possess any small electrical rework skills..

aka.... soldering small surface mount components?

you want an extra gauge cluster and HVAC? that's gonna be a lot of extra expenses, a delicate part you might need extra would be the hvac screen but its hard to get that without getting the entire hvac. As long as you or your swapper is careful and patient all you're gonna be needing are the leds and resistors

 

no you mis understood i dont want to buy an extra gauge cluster/HVAC..just all the leds and resistors to do it

i was looking at this page of his of quantities required, if i am going on a blue on blue look should i buy the suggested quantity plus the 2007 HVAC COMPONENT KIT FOR TC, which i believe is the resistors

yeah the kit are resistors. You can buy a few extra leds just incase, they are very small and might lose some of them, it wont be too much.. lol the resistors are even smaller just be careful and keep your working area clean and neat..

 

and all blue is fine or should i also get a few in red (for the temp **** fade) not really sure what that is, but thats what engineer suggested

 

can someone tell me if the PLCC2 Surface mount Top Leds at oznium.com are the same LEDs used for example at garage1217, and other places to do the swap, they have much lower prices, heres the link:

the only bad thing is that they are out of stock for 2 weeks on the blue
