Default LED sizing question...

ok, i recently replaced my front and rear dome lights with LED's from superbrightleds.com

i ordered these bulbs for the front dome and map lights:

T13 Wedge Base LED bulb

and this bulb for the rear dome:

3022-x4 LED Festoon bulb

i did amber for both dome lights and white for both map lights. i'm very happy with the color, but i'm a bit disappointed with their brightness, so i'm wondering...

will this fit for the front dome/map lights:

921-x9 Wedge Base LED bulb

will these fit for the front dome/map lights?

921-x12 Wedge Base LED bulb

and will this fit in the rear dome?

3022-x9 LED Festoon bulb

i'm assuming i wouldn't have any trouble with them all because they all say they're the same size and everything, but i want to make sure before i order anything. your input is appreciated. to check out the specs of the bulbs more carefully, use this link:

for the map lights, since your ordering from superbrightleds. you should go with this...

WLED-WHP LED Wedge Base Bulbs

The color is great in the car and also can be used with your license plate light.

^^^^^ Why do you say to use THOSE map lights?? They seem that they would be like a spot light and have a very limited angle of discharge. Do you have them in color or white??

I also would like to know if the 9LED Festoon would fit in our trunk light. I just recently experianced how much our trunk light is similar to poop! Don't use my trunk much.

And while we are on the topic of lights.... Anyone have a solution to a brighter reverse tail light??? I know not to use LEDs.

Any answers??? Answers would be great!!

You can use any LED that has the 194/168 size fitting

I personally recommend these LEDs
WLED-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs

They are very bright, and illuminate the whole interior when you hit the unlock key. Ive never had an LED burn out or flicker. They are quality bulbs.

Those use a single, high wattage, WIDE viewing angle LED. Info on thier site:

"This bulb has 1 High Power LED which is about as bright as the 6-LED bulb seen above"

Also on their more info page, at the bottom of the list, shows this LED's viewing angle at 120 degrees, very wide, perfect for the map lights IMHO. I will be getting these to replace the WLED-x5 I got from them as one of them has the center LED intermittantly flashing...

Thanks Jowie for the input. Let me know how that light works out for you.

I am still wondering if anyone knows if the 9LED Festoon would fit in our trunk light???

Also, any word on a brighter Reverse tail light?

Help us out knowledgable ones!

According to sylvania.com the trunk light in the tc is a 3022 size festoon, and superbrightleds.com has a 3022 size 9LED festoon:

3022-x9 LED Festoon bulb

That would be the one to try, and hope that the center section isn't too large. I haven't tried so I don't know for sure.

The 9 in the trunk would be a VERY tight fit. I do not think it would work personally the way it is built..

Thanks guys! Well, I'm still wondering if it is possible to have a brighter reverse tail light. I would love to do this. I have searched and searched for this. I've seen someone had it, but didn't know what brand or where they got it.

Well, Garage 1217, I can't wait to get my gauges back from you!!!! I feel like a little kid before Christmas.

Looks like the reverse lights are 921/168/T-16 sized, and the only thing I have found so far is:

http://www.sigmaauto.com/lighting/catz.php

Top of the page... But $43 EACH? You might find something better, just search for 921/168/T-16 reverse bulbs...

Lucky, I have the 9 led festoon in my trunk. it is a bit wide for this application, but all i had to do was bend the metal part that it connects to a littlbe bit to adjust for the festoon length. the only thing I dont like about it is that the lights are so close to the plastic casing that its obvoius that all of the light is in one concentrated area...still very bright though.

I am currently using the
921-x12 Wedge Base LED bulb in the front dome and that 3x3 9x LED Festoon in the back all fit fine.
