led swap worked for 3 days now gas/temp gauge went out
i did my own led swap and i have a whole summer of soldering expierience so i was confident and i thought it went well. well one night while driving about 2 days following the swap one of the leds went out in the cluster. so i took the cluster apart to check which one and they all worked. so i put it back together now none work? i am guessing a broken path on the board but any other ideas? i got the leds off ebay they were the 99 cent for 50 ones all the others are doing great.
You can try posting pics.. but on the cluster I dont know how much good that would do. Unless you can get some very close up shots of the solder joints. I can give you an idea of how well they are soldered from that. It is pretty easy to spot a potential issues in a joint if you know what to look for.
Other than that, I would try hitting them all again. But you say NONE of them work now? That could lead to a bigger issue since they are not all on the same circuit per se. I would be looking for an issue with the dimmer circuit, like a short or broken trace. Also, you should always touch the iron and your hand both to a common ground on the board.. that is a good, simple way to reduce the chance of static damage. With the way boards are designed, you dont see it as much, but someone sent me a board they did, and after troubleshooting I found the issue to be the dimmer control out of the processor.. most likely from static damage.
Let me know if I can be of any more help, I will do my best for not having the board in front of me.

They are laid out in pairs of three I believe. Just like the HVAC. 3 in series with these LEDs takes more than 9V to be as bright as they are, so there will be no more than that. So if only one is bad then only the ones near it will go out. I have seen them with one bad LED, and the whole thing will not go out.
I would be looking at a common ground issue, common power or a short somewhere
